About our Gallery Artists: Ken Girardini and Julie Girardini
"We are inspired by the duality of metal—how it can be molten and fluid in one state and cool and structured in another."
A husband and wife design team based out of Maryland. "Our primary medium is cold finished steel that has been cut, welded, ground, and finally coated with a lacquer finish to protect the surface. We are self taught in all aspects of our metal work. As our finisher, Julie explores daily the different finishing techniques; grinding, sanding and polishing to achieve a light, reflective and alluring surface. Ken's tools include a TIG welder for assembly and a plasma cutter to cut the steel. His engineering skills provide the structure of the design. Together, this makes our work unique and one of a kind."
